Database last updated September 2, 2010.
This database has two main files, one that lists all banded peregrines in the Midwest (5664 total records) and a second that originally listed all birds known to have survived to January 1 following their hatch, but for many years now has included only the nesting info for known breeders (= laid eggs). There are 2077 entries for this file. For any given breeding season, if both breeding adults were identified, there are two entries. If only one adult was identified, the entry is for that individual, regardless of sex. If neither adult was identified, the single entry is "unk" for unknown.
The earliest entries are for birds hacked in southeast Manitoba in 1981. U.S hacking started in 1982. Hacked (h, hack) vs. wild-produced (w, wpr) are so designated. The first wild nesting that fledged young was in 1987.
The Banding Info database contains information on every bird banded by this project. 5664 total records.
The Nesting Info database contains information on every nesting pair of birds reported to this project. 2077 total records.
